Nichum.com

I haven't written about this project, partly because of my moral confusions, but that's besides the point ... sometimes we need to force ourselves to overcome our fears. It's another Ruby on Rails project of mine that will hopefully help a lot of people in mourning. Check out Nichum.com to see what it's about. We will be releasing it shortly, but you can check out demo.nichum.com to get a sneak peek.

Another new project!

So, "a guy" (I'm keeping him nameless since the project is kind of hush hush for now) who worked on a school project with me, and works for himself, hired me and Pete Miller to work on upgrading their web application. Well, I looked at the Visual Basic/straight ASP code for a couple days ... and made the tough decision that the current system wasn't salvageable and we need to rebuild it from scratch. What will be build it in? You guessed, Rails! So, I've been through the business mumbo-jumbo of that, and then made a prototype that "they guy" demoed in Seattle at some "we like writing styles" conference. Not bad for a couple days of work. =) Hopefully I'll be able to speak more publicly about it soon. ... yes, I'm as confused as you

SMPL/Rafferty work

So pretty much right on cue, I've got a couple web design projects. Sean Martens is thinking of renaming his company, so I'm doing the website/logo work for him. I might hire someone else to do it, but we'll see how busy I get. Plus, another Rafferty company needs a website as well. Not off to a bad start ... ... and now we're washing Minnie =)

Commuting to Christmas

So, 1st semester is done! I got through my last classes as a WPI student! Woohoo! I drove home today ... well probably better call it commuting! I plan on working for most of it on all the projects I set aside during the semester, mostly in my underwear. =) I'll leave you with this cool picture I took on the way home:
